With technology advancing day by day the good old fashioned printed book is slowly being taken over by online material. Many books are available via websites to be downloaded to a device such as a Kindle or read on screen. Schools are now showing a change in the way certain lessons are taught and have started to supply students with the use of Ipads and other tablets for research and study purposes.
Schools still tend to currently use reference books to give to their students for classroom and home work purposes but I expect that in the foreseeable future this will change to a more online approach. Some private schools and those that specialise in computer studies already give their pupils laptops and home work is sent to and from pupil to teacher via email. I think that schools also do need to bear in mind that some pupils work better from a book than they do a computer screen so there may always be a need for this type of learning.
