There are many choices when deciding which course is best for further education. On one side there is the vocational route, perhaps an apprenticeship or other practical, hands on route to a career. On the other, there is the academic route, by completing A Levels. There are certain things to consider when deciding which route is best.

Apprenticeships give the opportunity to earn money whilst learning “on the job”. The pay side of things is not vast, but is still money in the pocket. Other vocational options include BTec, NVQ and diplomas. These are taught at levels similar to those of high GCSE grades up to A Levels. These are offered in a wide range of subjects.
The academic side is the traditional route, where after GCSEs, AS and A Level courses can be studied. These are usually studied at colleges or 6th Form centres (sometimes attached to secondary schools).
