Writing a killer job application
It’s that time of year again when people look for new roles, and we’re going to celebrate this time of the year with a post about writing a quality job application.
First things first, read the application through once first with a cup of tea. It’s important to know what’s going to be asked of you before you get the ball point pen out. Once you’ve had a read, do a little research on the company so you know more about them, what they do and what they’re looking for in an employee. Having the most important information first is good too, and it means the individual processing your application will take less than a minute to be hit with the most important advantages in hiring you. Also, remember to edit, edit and edit your application again before you complete it. If it’s a paper copy, fill it in with pencil first. There can’t be grammatical or spelling mistakes, no matter how small, as it can give off a negative feeling, especially if your interviewer is a bit of a word nerd.
